The tournament has come to it’s end. Anand won the 1st place (and the right to play a match against Carlsen) with 8.5 points, Karjakin was 2nd with 7.5 and third place was shared by Kramnik, Mamedyarov and Andreikin, who have 7.

And Anand did it. Not only he managed to save a very unpleasant endgame against Karjakin in 13th round, but he also won the Candidates tournament (and thus got the possibility to fight for the crown against Carlsen this November) with one round to go!

Again a very interesting round! Anand’s position was tricky and incredibly good but he chose to repeat the moves. And thanks to Topalov’s win over Svidler he left the last place and it is shared now. Anand is leading with 7.5 points, Aronian has 6.5, Mamedyarov & Karjakin have 6.
