The reason why I wasn’t updating the blog for a very long time is because I started writing my 6th book! The book is a guide to Scotch Game and should be published sometime next year by Everyman Chess! Naturally, in order to gather the material for both sides I have to go through practically everything I can find on the Scotch! Which is really a lot!
The other interesting matter is that the book that my parents write about my upbringing and education (as well as about their students, etc) is slowly moving forward! And although it is in Russian now, I consider translating it into English in the future as it will be very interesting both for parents and for parents-to-be!
And now back to my book :))
Hi,
I’m a big fan of your work on grunfeld and anti-indians.
I follow all the lines you suggested in anti-indians with a lot of success.
I generally play scotch, c3 sicilian, pirc, french, benko and KI in openings.
So I will be eagerly waiting for your scotch game book.
I now follow sam collins repertoire book. please suggest any improvements/interesting sidelines for white over collins lines in your book.
Also include 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd5 4.Nxd5 Bc5 5.Nxc6 Qf6 6.Qd2 and Qf3(both lines) if possible.
Yours

Writing about Scotch is very a praiseworthy thing. I know only about two books: Starting Out, which sucks, and Scotch Explained, which shows just basic middlegames. Unfortunately Scotch is much more than that.
