    (b) 1.Bd8 Rf8 2.Qxa8 Bxe5 ( 2. …Qxa2 3.cxb5 a5, 2. …Qxc4 3.Qxa6 Bxe5 4.Be7, etc. ) 3.Qxa6 ( 3.Rxe5?? Qb1+ or Qc1+ 4.Rd1 Qxd1+ 5.Re1 Qxe1# ) Qxc4 4.Be7 and White will probably win.
    (c) 1.Bd8 Qf5 2.Qxa8 Bxe5 3.Qxa6 b4 4.Be7 and White will probably win.

    1. Bd8 threatens both 2. Qxf7+ and 2. Qxa8. 1. …..Rf8 and 1. …..Qf5 both defend the mate but leave the rook hanging. I cannot see a good defense for Black against both the threats.

    I could have also mentioned that the threat 2. Qxf7+ is a mating threat after 2. ….. Kh8 3. Qxg7#
