Send US$ 5 to [email protected] on Paypal and get 10 game fragments on middlegame/endgame every week. Studying these themes helps to find plans, ideas, build strategies 15-35 moves into the game. It is very important to study these themes as the middlegame is where most players get into time pressure or just cannot find a plan. Material can be sent in pgn, cbv, html, pdf formats.

This looks like a position from the Queen’s Gambit Declined, Slav or maybe Semi-Slav.
One of Black’s main goals in QP positions is to exchange off White’s pawn on d4. The move 1…e5 has been prepared, which would possibly do that and free the Bc8. I thought about 1…Re8, too, but it seems more important to free the Bc8 (develop minor pieces first) and to keep guard over f7, which the Bc4 hits after Black plays e6-e5 soon. Another idea might be 1…Nb6 to push the Bc4 back but I would prefer 1…e5 rather than to move an already developed piece again.
Very good conclusion! Well done.
