Today we have the 2nd game and the pairs are:

Harika-Stefanova (Stefanova leads 1-0, so Harika has to win by force in order to get to tie-breaks) – the game ended in a draw, so Stefanova is in the final.

Ju Wenjun-Ushenina (1/2 in the first round, so all is possible :)) 1/2 again, proceeding to tie-breaks tomorrow.

Using the Rook on the 7th to chase the King

While looking at various games you often remember similar ideas you have seen sometimes years ago. Exactly this happened to me some days ago while going over the game Luther-Ftacnik, Germany 2007!

Which game came to my mind once I saw Rxf7 followed by Rxg7? The first game from my first book!

Today my mum discovered one more such idea:
