Yet another very interesting day in Tromso! Svidler, Morozevich, Jobava, Shirov, Radjabov continue to fight in the event while both the women’s world champion Ushenina and former women’s world champion Hou are out.

Unbelievable day! While 13 players advanced to the 2nd round, Polgar, Volokitin and Nepomniachtchi (by 14 y.o. Wei Li!) were knocked out. The women’s world champion Ushenina managed to equalize the score in her 2nd game vs Svidler and will be among those who play the tie-break games today. Former women’s world champion Hou Yifan drew Shirov also in the 2nd game and will be playing the tie-breaks as well.
