I won today against an unrated player who fought very hard until he blundered a piece. His main problem was that he played too fast. When the game ended – move 50, he still had 1h and 13 mins on the clock. And the playing system here is that the 30 minutes is added only after one flag fell. Since it didn’t happen here, he didn’t get the 30 extra minutes. Imagine if he did… Overall I think I played a good game.

The pairings of the second round are unclear yet, players are still playing, but there are a few upsets already – Svidler, Polgar, Wojtaszek drew, Sjugirov lost. Will have a more clear picture tomorrow!

Carlsen defeated Kramnik 2-0 while Ivanchuk won against Grischuk with 1.5-0.5 score. Aronian is half a point ahead of Carlsen who has 9.5. Anand has 8 points and is sole 3rd.
